Jukaso Inn Down Town

The manager eventually helped get me a refund after a dispute with a third-party travel agent, and the Connaught Place location is convenient. But at check-in I was introduced to an outside “Tourist Information Centre” agent operating through or near the hotel. The agent misrepresented a tour booking, which led to a serious dispute offsite over the refund and verbal intimidation. Afterward, several people outside the hotel seemed to know about the dispute. That made me worry about my privacy and safety. On my last day, I felt anxious about leaving my luggage there and feared my belongings or passport might be withheld. The manager did resolve the financial issue in the end, but I strongly recommend the hotel reconsider allowing third-party travel agents to solicit guests. The incident seriously affected my sense of safety as an international traveler.

The staff made the stay frustrating as well. The receptionist was rude and unprofessional, and it felt like management and staff didn't care about the quality of our stay or our concerns. I stayed at Jukaso Down Town with my parents. Our room seemed to be tucked under a staircase, with a ceiling I estimated to be under six feet. It felt cramped and claustrophobic. There was a strong bathroom-like odor throughout, and the room was damp and musty. Several pieces of furniture were broken or heavily worn. With the low ceiling, dampness, smell, and poor furnishings, it felt more like a cell than a comfortable hotel room. The “heritage” feel came through as brilliant neglect. I strongly caution other guests against choosing Jukaso Down Town. The poor room condition and unhelpful, rude staff made our stay very uncomfortable.

We planned on staying for two days, but ended up adding another night because the stay was comfortable. The staff were polite and helpful, the service was good, and the location made it easy to reach the city's main sights. The one downside was having no lift.

The buffet breakfast had a nice range of options and cost ₹350 per person. The hotel is in a good area near India Gate, with major hotel brands and shops around it. My room was clean, the toilets were very clean too, and I liked the interior and staircase design. Service was good and the two-day stay felt worth the money. There’s no lift, which made taking luggage upstairs a bit awkward, and the toilets could use a ventilation fan.
