Hotel Royal Plaza BY OYO Rooms

The rooms here are all very poor quality. Cleaning was bad, the bedsheet was small and dirty, and the washroom wasn't clean. I booked a discounted AC room online, but the staff said the amount didn't apply and asked for extra money to turn on the AC. The service was very bad.

The place didn't feel safe at all. They put some drunk, loud, abusive guys in the room next to mine, and I was scared to leave my room all night. At check-in, the guy kept staring at my phone and asked for extra money. There was no TV as advertised, and although the room had an AC and geyser, neither worked. It hadn't been cleaned, and when I asked staff to do something about the mosquitoes, they didn't bother.

The one good thing was that the receptionist was nice. He also acknowledged that they were using two hotel names and often refusing OYO bookings. The property manager only accepted cash. My booking at hotel royal was confirmed and fully paid, but the area manager refused to recognize either the payment or the booking and argued that I had to pay extra or couldn't check in. After I shared the PIN, the OYO app suddenly showed Rs.440 pending even though I'd already paid. The directions in the app took me to hotel royal, which was the right place, but the area manager denied it and said I was at the wrong hotel. This was fraud, refusing online bookings and demanding extra money at check-in. They place confirmed bookings under different names, and the hotel itself shows as confirmed.

After I paid 300 more for the room, there was no water for the whole day. The manager had first demanded extra money, so the service was literally pathetic and the stay a waste of money. I can't understand why OYO lists hotels like this. You've lost me as a customer. I'll use another website or app, since they don't betray customers like you do. If negative ratings were possible, I'd give one.
