Narmada Hills Resort

We missed the boat and tried taking the dam route, but found out a permit was needed to enter that area. The resort offered to send a car for ₹1500 one way, which felt like a rip-off. I got through by paying the tempowala just ₹200, and the military staff were actually helpful. There were constant requests for money from locals, and it felt like everyone was trying to squeeze us dry. The boat is pricey and stops by 5:30, while the dam route goes through a deserted jungle, even in the daytime. Getting to the temple premises is a whole ordeal, and the resort is far from the main area. I booked by accident, so the location was a major drawback. The resort itself was decent, though: a chill ambiance, clean swimming pools, plenty for kids to do, welcoming canteen staff who did their best, and decent food. If you’re from Indore and want a family trip, it’s okay, but it’s not a convenient spot. Be ready for the location and extra costs.

The boat ride to Omkareshwar is very safe, so there’s no need to be afraid, and the experience is on another level. The property is deep in the forest, but it’s a place worth visiting. It has a good ambiance, a swimming pool, and pure vegetarian food. Get there early in the day so you can enjoy the property.

When we asked to stay 1.5 hours past checkout, the staff agreed. They were helpful and supportive throughout, and their nice manner made for a good customer experience. Our room AC wasn’t working properly at first, but they moved us to another room so we wouldn’t be inconvenienced. We had a pleasant stay.

Narmada hill resort is a good property, but the rating doesn’t match what I’m saying here. From there, you have to take a boat to reach Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, or drive for an hour. It’s excellent if you’re staying at the property itself, but otherwise it isn’t workable.
