I booked Club Mahindra Derby Green through Agoda for my senior citizen parents. What should have been a comfortable trip became physically exhausting and stressful. On arrival at Derby Green, management redirected them to the sister property Club Mahindra Danish Villa. To get them to agree, staff explicitly promised identical facilities and, crucially, a ground-floor room suited to their age and mobility. At Danish Villa, reception said no ground-floor room was available and put them in a first-floor room. They had to climb the stairs every time they wanted to go out. The Agoda booking clearly noted that they were senior citizens and needed an appropriate room placement, so this was a special request the hotel knew about. Promising ground-floor access to persuade them to relocate, then not honoring it, was deeply upsetting. Moving elderly guests between properties and leaving them to manage stairs showed no empathy or basic consideration. Club Mahindra failed my parents. If you’re booking for elderly or vulnerable family members and expect commitments to be kept, look elsewhere. I don’t trust this management.
