The Grange Hotel

The Heritage Room worked well for our family of three for four nights: it was spacious, clean, and regularly attended to by housekeeping. There’s no outside view, though, and the room felt colder than outdoors. The small heater couldn’t warm a room that size, so temperature control could be better. The children’s play area also needs maintenance and clearer signs, and the music system could use an upgrade. Lazar Ajay looked after us especially well. He was polite and helpful, suggested places to eat nearby, and even helped us book a train at the last minute. The location made it easy to get around and see attractions. For sightseeing, the hotel arranged Impala Tours and Travels, and everything went smoothly. Breakfast is included depending on the booking plan. Junior Kuppanna is inside the property; the food was good, although service sometimes slowed during busy periods. Across the road, there are cafes and Zuka Fine Dining Restaurant. Adding rooms with a sky view could be popular. We had a comfortable, pleasant stay, with a few areas that could be improved.

Poorni was a kind, attentive host and made our visit feel especially welcoming. Ooty Grange Hotel itself was peaceful, clean, and well cared for, a comfortable place to unwind. We had a really nice stay and would recommend it to families and other visitors to Ooty.

The noise at night made the stay difficult for us. Coming from busy Chennai, we found the constant heavy vehicle traffic around the hotel just as intrusive, and wouldn’t recommend it to someone looking for a quieter break. We were there with our two children from 25th Dec 2025 to 27th Dec 2025. On Christmas night, an event was held, but nobody told us about it beforehand or asked if we wanted to join. It seemed intended for only a few families, and we felt left out. We also found an alcohol bottle under the bed, which raised doubts about whether the room had been properly cleaned before check-in. I attached a photo. That was very disappointing and unacceptable. Overall, we weren’t satisfied.

The garden was lovely, and the whole resort feels like a photo spot. There are plenty of nearby places, too. Great room, view, and vibe, with very good service. Beautiful.
