Colonel's Inn

It's been years, but my family and I still remember the lovely hospitality at this Inn. If I recall correctly, Mr Shakti handled everything there. The owner was humble and kind on the phone too, suggesting good ways to fit in as many visits as possible during our short stay. We'd gladly return. Highly recommended 👌

We really enjoyed our time at Colonel's Inn. It's right in the heart of Ooty and within walking distance of Botanical Gardens. The elegant, stylish rooms were very clean and felt homely. The chef makes great food on request, and the helpful caretakers can arrange autos.

The food was excellent, especially the uttapam I had. Dinner can be ordered ahead, while breakfast had a small selection but was tasty and enough. We stayed here as a family and found the staff courteous and happy to help with our requests. It's a spacious, well-kept old property that feels more like a homestay than a hotel. The location is great, near the botanical garden and within walking distance of the center, and there's plenty of parking.

We spent two nights and three days in a Deluxe room with balcony, travelling with our one-and-a-half-year-old. They gave us a heater when we asked, and being able to get a glass of milk was a big help with feeding our child. The complimentary breakfast and paid dinner were delicious, and the room boys and chefs were very helpful. We loved the balcony view and atmosphere. I'd highly recommend colonels Inn to families and couples.
