We booked Cyprus Inn on MakeMyTrip in a hurry because of the weekend rush, relying on its pictures, but the real place looked nothing like them. We paid far more than the stay was worth, and I left feeling scammed and miserable. You may think this review doesn't match the photos or other reviews, but it's a genuine account of what happened to us, and I don't want others paying so much for an uncomfortable stay. The blankets were very low quality, there were no basic toiletries, and there was almost no service or staff help. Mr. Pancham at reception was rude and unhelpful. The property also seemed to have two online identities, as an independent hotel and as an OYO property, which felt deceptive. I strongly advise people to avoid Cyprus Inn. It was one of my worst hotel experiences and an insult to beautiful Ooty.

The rooms and bathrooms were good, but there's very little in the way of basic facilities. There was no kitchen or place to eat, no phone in the room, and no fans. I don't think they have AC either. The hotel also seemed understaffed. A room heater is hard to get, and I doubt there are enough blankets and fresh bedsheets. If yours is dirty or has holes, you may have to put up with it. It's just okay for sleeping if the hotel isn't busy. With more guests, the limited amenities would be a problem.

The noise made it impossible to get any peace, with loud guests, honking vehicles, and staff shouting at one another. The cramped parking they call free was a mess, and their so-called restaurant served stale, cold food I couldn't eat. The Wi-Fi didn't work, hot water wasn't available, and the TV seemed to be there just for show. The staff were rude and didn't care about guests. When I asked for clean towels or basic supplies, they brushed me off or refused. The room was filthy, with stained sheets and blankets that looked as though they hadn't been washed in years. The bathroom smelled of sewage, had mold everywhere, and didn't drain properly. Staying at Cypress Inn was the worst decision of my life. This place insults beautiful Ooty. Don't stay here. It doesn't deserve your money or time, and I'd give it negative stars if I could.

We were students at Light and Life Academy and had this experience ourselves. The owner made our stay miserable, so I suggest nobody rent a room here. Don't get accommodation here.

We visited in March 2025, and the room was nice, clean, and well maintained. The service was very good too. If we come back, we'll stay here again.
