GoStops Ooty is clean, well maintained and has a friendly vibe, with helpful, welcoming staff. I found it a comfortable stay and good value for money, especially for budget travelers and backpackers. The common areas are great for socializing, and the location makes it easy to get to the main spots. Highly recommended for solo travelers or groups.

This might suit solo travellers or friends, but I wouldn't choose it for a family or if you need privacy. Our single room was just one wall away from reception, so every conversation carried between the room and reception. People partied in the garden until 3am to 4am, and there were no restrictions on late night noise like at other resorts and hotels we've stayed in. The sound was so horrible that we couldn't sleep at all. We complained at reception multiple times, but the response wasn't satisfactory. We came for a peaceful night and left sleep deprived. It was a horrific experience.

We'd already booked our flights and everything after reserving three rooms two months before New Year's and paying. Now they've called to say they overbooked and want us to cancel. This is ridiculous. They take bookings, then ask people to cancel when they get higher-priced offline bookings. I'll take this to court.

For a budget hostel, the beds were a nice surprise, really comfortable, and the lockers are huge. It was super clean and felt secure too. Highly recommend.
