Hotel Jaysanthi

The beds were shaky, the rooms dirty, housekeeping poor, and the staff didn’t understand guests’ urgent needs. We had booked two rooms at Hotel Jaysanthi through Makemytrip for a recent family trip to Ooty. The beds were very small, one mirror had a broken frame and was hanging, and there were no almirahs, so bags had to stay on the floor. Water was available in some empty rooms but not ours. Staff said the supply was out and they were waiting for a water tanker. Since the overhead tank was shared, I couldn’t understand why other rooms had water and ours didn’t. We filled a bucket from an empty room’s bathroom, and the staff got angry. It was especially upsetting that they wouldn’t help when older women needed to use the washroom. The hotel controlled the water and hot water supply, including which rooms got water. Whenever we asked for towels or clean sheets and pillow covers, they said the laundry was washing them and it would take time, but nothing came. Guests from the second floor told me cleanliness was even worse there. I also called Makemytrip customer care, but it was worse still: they passed me to AI agents that did something else instead of what we asked. WORST hotel, a waste of money. Please don’t book this hotel from any source.

There are lots of tiffin and lunch options nearby, and the hotel is in a good location. Staff are polite and willing to help solve problems. I booked through MMT, and they told me the deluxe room shown on MMT was actually a normal room. I was okay with that. Overall, good.

The staff were very good, but the room was awful. The sheets and blanket seemed like they were never washed, and the pillow cover smelled like poop. The washroom was so dirty you couldn't go in. I wouldn't stay here.

Everything was good, and the staff were very polite. It's a good budget hotel in Ooty, right in the city center and close to both the bus stand and railway station. Service was good too.
