Oriental Grand

After paying so much, this was the most pathetic hotel experience I've had. There aren't any food facilities, and Swiggy zomato can take an hour to deliver there. Please avoid it. There are much better maintained hotels for less money. I don't know how this place is still going when nobody seems happy with it. Maybe the 4 rating comes from fake reviews they paid thousands for. Don't stay here, even if it's the last hotel available in ooty. We booked a holiday package through easemytrip, which described this as a luxury hotel. When my family and I arrived, nobody seemed interested in helping us. The staff said easemytrip hadn't paid them yet. Even after we showed all the documents, we waited an hour to check in. There was only one cleaner, a manager who didn't seem like a manager and spoke rudely, and a receptionist who didn't know how to handle online bookings. Some luxury. They gave us a stinky room, with poor drinking water, no water in the bathroom, and a bedsheet covered in marks from previous guests. They also called it a luxury room. The intercom didn't help: either reception wouldn't answer or they'd take the complaint and never come. I called about basic things many times, maybe 20, and nobody showed up. I complained to easemytrip about the room and service on the first day. I think they may have taken revenge over the other three days. The manager was especially rude and didn't know how to speak to guests or run the hotel.
