OYO 8923 Kemp's Cave

The food was good, but the rest of the stay was poorly handled. We were charged extra for everything we asked for, and there was no timely response. Housekeeping was very bad, and the place didn’t seem well managed. We booked two deluxe rooms at the same price, but got different rooms, one with fewer facilities. They’d told us one thing before we arrived and something else once we got there. A very bad experience.

I arrived during peak season and ended up with nowhere to stay. Although I’d booked through a third-party aggregator, I’d accidentally entered the wrong number of guests. I called the hotel to fix it and agreed to pay the difference at check-in. I called twice to confirm, once after the correction and again the day before the stay. At check-in, they said the booking had been cancelled without telling me. They also wouldn’t honor the arrangement we’d made for me to pay the extra amount. They could have let me sort out the aggregator issue after giving me the room I’d reserved, but instead I was left stranded. The customer service was pathetic. Avoid this hotel if you want to spare yourself the trouble.

Breakfast was very limited and unsatisfactory, and the tea was awful, like tea from a railway station. There was no hot water during our stay either. Food service was slow and unpredictable. The server brought orders when it suited them, and starters and main courses all came out together, with no option to have the starters first. They seemed to have very few staff, which led to delays and poor service. Management was pathetic. Strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

At the end, THE KEMP'S CAVE was the worst experience. The staff weren't good, and it felt like they were cheating tourists over rooms and things. The food was bad too. This hotel doesn't even deserve one star, and giving a place like this 3-4 stars isn't fair.
