Monarch Rama Palace

We stayed three days and liked the quiet courtyard setup. All the rooms open onto a small courtyard, which keeps road traffic noise and dust from affecting the stay, and the staff were friendly and willing to go out of their way to help. The room design, though, is awkward: in the first two rooms we had on the top floor, our bathroom and the neighboring room's bathroom shared ventilation, so we could hear everything from next door. We only ate here once, for breakfast, and it was a disaster. The courtyard and ground floor hall are used for parties. There was a birthday party the day before our stay, and it could get very loud if you happen to be there on a party day.

The room was small but comfortable, and breakfast was free and easy to get. It's close to all the monuments, and the rates are quite reasonable. The owner is a doctor and was extremely helpful when I had a bout of 'Delhi belly'. Friendly reception too.

The staff were friendly, and the AC worked, though it had one remote shared by the whole hotel. Otherwise, there was a lizard in the bathroom, the water was very dirty, toiletries were lacking, and the sofa had a hole.

I went to this multipurpose hotel for my cousin's wedding. It's behind the famous Shri ram Raja Sarkar temple, in a good location, and works well for stays, functions, and celebrations. There's limited open space, but the rooms are nice quality and hygienic.
