Hotel Tourist Palace

The hotel can arrange union cabs for sightseeing, with pickup right at the property. Our room had a lovely view, and the riverside was just a 2-3 minute walk away. It was well equipped with essentials, including a kettle, tea and coffee kit, and bathroom supplies. Staff were courteous and the service was excellent. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner, and would recommend staying here in Pahalgam.

The staff were very helpful and quick to respond, and we had a good room with Himalayan views on two sides. Breakfast and dinner buffets were just right. The TV, STB, and coffee maker weren’t working, so the place needs maintenance and regular checks. Dinner was served at the adjacent Bombay Palace hotel, where the space felt too small and cramped.

The view here is incredible, and the rooms were clean and lovely. As a vegetarian, I appreciated that the vegetarian food was served separately. Breakfast was decent and healthy. A must visit.

The service was very good, and the staff were polite. This was the most pleasant hotel stay we’ve had so far. When we met the owner on one of his regular visits, we told him that no praise felt enough for the place and the service, and he accepted the compliment. Our room was warm and comfortable, with a convenient bathroom, lots of lights, and comfortable beds. Carpets and cushions made it welcoming, and the color scheme was pleasing. From the large window, the surroundings looked beautiful. It was quiet, and having morning tea by the window in a comfortable chair, feet up on the little table, brought a real sense of calm and serenity. Around the hotel and in Pehelgam town, walking is pleasant. Nearby, you can take a pony ride to scenic spots or a cab to places farther away. The road follows the lovely Lidder river through thick fir and pine forests, with plenty of chinar trees. Shops and restaurants offer souvenirs and Kashmiri food at moderate prices, though bargaining is needed to bring them down. Delicious kehwa, the Kashmiri tea, is available too. Kashmiri food is delicious. Kashmir felt very safe to us, and the people were friendly and courteous. They want peace to continue. The visible presence of armed police was reassuring for tourists.
