Prices are said to start at around ₹2,000-₹3,000 a night. Guests mention convenient parking being available, though some still find it difficult to park. Breakfast gets praise for its range, including continental, American, and Asian choices, but others think the buffet and the menu selection could be better. There are also complaints about upkeep, utensils, and hygiene, despite many describing the hotel and its rooms as clean and spacious, particularly the suites. The staff are often called friendly and helpful, and the rooms comfortable, with basic amenities. Hilux Courtyard Palakkad is centrally placed near Palakkad Town Railway Station, with access by road and rail.

Dinner came down to just fried rice, chapathi, and chicken curry, and breakfast lacked both variety and quality. The extra bed was only a mattress laid on the floor, not a proper cot, so it was uncomfortable. In Room No. 210, housekeeping and cleanliness were well below what I expected from a hotel calling itself 4-star. At check-in, reception didn’t explain the facilities properly, which left us confused, and there was no bell boy to take us to the room. Service, food, hospitality, and guest handling all need major improvement. This stay at Hilux Courtyard was very disappointing, and the hotel doesn’t live up to its 4-star claim.

For my in-laws, a trip to Palakkad means staying at Hilux Courtyard. They’ve spent more than 50 days there in total and plan their travel around whether rooms are available, since they won’t stay anywhere else in town. They discovered it a few days after it opened a couple of years ago and now think of it as a home away from home. They especially value the owners’ personal attention and supervision, along with the efficient staff. The location works very well for them, and they also appreciate how clean the property, rooms, bed linen, and towels are. I’m sharing this on their behalf.

The room was kept very neatly, and the stay itself was pleasant and quiet. Breakfast was complimentary and a nice bonus. The service from staff, though, was really poor. Reception weren’t especially rude, but they weren’t welcoming either, and the canteen staff also came across badly. Food wasn’t refilled until a customer asked. It left me feeling like they might not be paid enough for the work.
