The rooms, location, and service were excellent. I gave it 4 stars because the food quality was average, below what I’d expect from Taj standards. I wouldn’t recommend this property if your main reason for visiting is wildlife safari at Panna national park. There are three gates. Madla gate is where most sightings happen, but it’s a 40-minute drive away. If you get stuck on the ghats, the journey can take hours, as it did for us. The two gates closer to the resort have historically had poor tiger sightings. You can enter through one of them and drive toward Madla, but that means a lot of driving in the park, and by the time you get there you may have missed the sightings.

Prakash, our butler, was the best person to have with us throughout the stay, and the staff were incredibly hospitable. The property is amazing, beautifully managed and maintained, and feels like top-notch luxury despite being literally inside the jungle. A must-visit whether you’re a jungle buff or not!

The safari guides are the real highlight here. They were absolutely amazing, and we saw four tiger siblings together in one spot. That’s hard to top. You stay in your own huge private villa, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. There are a couple of quirks: you can’t lock the door from outside, and the shower isn’t enclosed, so the stone floor gets soaked.

We saw spotted deer and a wild boar on the grounds, and there are wild animals in the area. It’s highly recommended to have a staff escort when walking to or from your cabin at night. The lodge has luxurious private cabins in the game preserve, with excellent staff and dining. A chef prepares excellent meals. Wonderful place, highly recommend!
