The restaurant was the weak point of my stay. Service was slow, the wait for food was long, and it didn’t feel customer friendly. That really needs improvement. The rest of the visit was comfortable. My room was clean, roomy enough, and had the basic amenities; housekeeping was prompt. Staff were courteous and helpful, and the property was calm and generally well kept. There was plenty of parking, too. Dane Castel Varkala is convenient for getting around, about a 20-minute drive from the railway station and well placed for nearby Varkala attractions.

Riyas, Anuroopa, and Sujishnu deserve a special mention. They were so helpful and kind, and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The rest of the staff were just as welcoming and ready to help. Our room was spacious, clean, and well kept, and every meal was delicious and nicely prepared. From the hospitality to the comfort and cleanliness, we had a wonderful stay. I’d happily recommend this hotel for an easy, relaxing visit.

The food was superb, every item was delicious, and the service from the friendly, easy-to-talk-to staff was great. I held my engagement here and it was awesome. The main hall can accommodate 500 people, and there's another really good smaller hall for intimate parties.

The fried rice was tasty and the portion was okay, but takeaway came with a parcel charge. The funny part was getting two forks with it instead of a spoon. I asked if they had a small spoon and they politely said, “No Sir.” This was during lunch with my two-year-old son.

The room was well maintained, but the restaurant was a letdown. One staff member seemed to be handling all the chores, and service was extremely slow. The food arrived very late and wasn’t warm. Even the mint lime juice took an hour, after I kept reminding them.
