OYO 16082 Hotel Imperial Corner

I wouldn't stay here again. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages, flies were all over the room, and there was rubbish in the corners. The blankets were dirty and smelled bad, and there wasn't even a proper one for guests. The bedsheets were filthy, more than half the lights didn't work, and the windows wouldn't close properly, letting in a cool draft.

The room itself was clean, and the location was good. The rest of my stay was disappointing. I had booked a suite through Goibibo, but at check-in the receptionist said it was occupied and that suites were reserved for customers who booked directly. I was given an ordinary room instead, which left me feeling cheated. Breakfast was included, but they said it would come from a third-party vendor rather than their restaurant. It was aloo paratha with curd and tea, and didn't feel worth what I paid Goibibo. There was also a half-hour power cut at night. I went down and got the generator started myself.

On 20.11.2021, I arrived for my confirmed OYO booking at Hotel imperial corner and found that my room had been given to someone else. They offered another room that was nowhere near what I'd booked, and it was dirty and unhygienic. They claimed my booked room was under maintenance, but when I asked to see it, they wouldn't show me. I don't believe it was actually being maintained. This was shameful from OYO. I'll contact the OYO app and ask others to do the same.

The location is the one good thing: it's near both the railway station and bus stand. The high price makes no sense otherwise, and I'd say it has no value for money. The rooms are much smaller than the photos on apps like OYO suggest, which feels misleading. The TV didn't work at first because I couldn't find its switch. A service person fiddled with the wires and left, saying someone else would come. Nobody showed up, so I spent about 20 minutes figuring it out myself. Once it was on, the Dish TV recharge hadn't been done, and sports and other interesting channels weren't subscribed. I called the staff, got nowhere, and complained through the booking app. A woman and a man came to check, taking away my privacy for 15 minutes, but still didn't fix it. Even after waiting longer, I didn't get the result I wanted. The cupboard was meant for guests' belongings, I assume, but it was packed with really dirty blankets, pillows, and a quilt. Nearby trains honk, so sleeping was difficult too.
