Hotel Surya Inn

Balaji temple is just a two-minute walk away, and there’s covered ground-floor parking for more than 20 cars. The hotel has a lift, a first-floor restaurant with good food made without garlic or onion, and large rooms with balconies, AC, a geyser, and a TV. You can reach the gate by taking the slip road opposite the parking area through the farms, or call the hotel for directions, since police stop cars on the main road. A deluxe room was ₹2,500, though the online price changes across sites and you may be able to negotiate if booking several rooms. Checkout is at noon, but they may allow an extra hour if rooms aren’t fully booked. There are over 15 rooms on each floor. Some things need attention: the TV didn’t work until we asked reception, the towels were dirty and torn, and you may need to ask for a fresh bedsheet. Toiletries aren’t provided. The AC looked new, but we visited in February, so I can’t say whether it works. It’s a clean, neat place to stay, though.

A comfortable stay in a nice location. The rooms were clean, service was good, and the staff were polite and helpful. Recommended.

The restaurant was a real plus for us. The food was flavorful and hygienically prepared, better than what I’d usually expect from roadside dhabas. Plates cost about ₹40-₹50 more, but still felt reasonable for the quality. The meals were presented well, and the service was warm and humble. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and there’s a large covered parking area on the premises. Balaji Temple is about a one-minute walk away, which makes the location convenient for pilgrims and tourists alike. Room service could be more attentive. We had to follow up several times on requests, which took away a little from an otherwise pleasant stay. Still, the location, food, and hospitality made it good value, and I don’t think a booking here is likely to disappoint.

Being close to the mandir entrance is the only real advantage here. The rooms aren’t worth this price, and the bathrooms weren’t cleaned properly. They also don’t provide a tea kettle, which I’d expect at this rate. It feels more like a dharamshala than a hotel, and a dharamshala might actually be better. I wouldn’t recommend it.
