Hotel Red Cherry By OYO Rooms

The location didn't work for us. It's somewhere between upper and lower Pelling, with no nearby shop. We had a very bad experience on this trip and got poor service; the manager was awful. Breakfast was extremely limited. If you couldn't eat puri sabji or alu paratha, roti wasn't available either, since they only made it for lunch and dinner. There was just one towel per room, and they switched off the guizer whenever they chose, so we couldn't get hot water in the morning. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to people with standard living expectations.

The food at the in-house restaurant was a highlight, with lots of tasty dishes made from fresh ingredients and nicely presented. Breakfast had an especially impressive range of local and international options. The staff, from reception to housekeeping and the restaurant, welcomed us warmly and were professional and helpful. Check-in and checkout were smooth. The property was beautifully maintained, with elegant interiors and a peaceful feel. Our room was roomy, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully designed with modern amenities, and the bed was very comfortable. I had an excellent experience from beginning to end.

I booked a double-sharing room with a Kanchenjunga view, but when I arrived, the manager said they didn't have one. Since the booking was non-refundable, I had to take a pine-view room, which cost less, but I was still made to pay more. The toilet had no ventilation, and the TV hadn't been recharged. After I complained to goibibo, the manager offered to move me to a triple-sharing Kanchenjunga-view room at 9pm, the night before checkout.

The location was a real plus, close to the city center and convenient for exploring. The rooms were spotless and well kept, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. The food was delicious, with a variety that exceeded my expectations. It was a fantastic, comfortable stay, and I’d recommend the hotel to anyone visiting the area. Tomer, Israel
