The Golden Retreat Hotel in Pelling

Golden Retreat is conveniently located for nearby attractions and essentials, but our stay was average. The room was small, poorly maintained, and cleanliness was a concern. Service lacked both promptness and hospitality. We were also denied food because of an LPG shortage. No alternative or guidance was offered, even though there was a restaurant just 200 meters away. Better communication and guest support would have made a big difference. With improvements to cleanliness, service, and assistance, this place could offer a much better stay. ⭐⭐⭐

The rooms are good, the balcony has a great view, and the staff are helpful. Room service food is available, though it costs a little more than usual. The location is good too, but the many steep stairs from the road into the hotel make it very difficult for older people and children. Overall, a good stay.

The in-house Pure Veg restaurant served very good food and tea, and the rooms were clean with excellent views. Over two nights, we saw Kanchenjunga peeks both mornings, right from the balcony. It was the best experience I've ever had in a hotel room. Reaching the hotel from the road means climbing many stairs, so it isn't preferable for older people. Otherwise, it's the best hotel in Pelling.

You can get the best vegetarian food here, and the staff were cooperative. Special mention to manager prasanta. The view of The Kanchenjunga from this hotel is absolutely mesmerizing. I'd recommend it to everyone in Pelling.
