De Fleur Hotel

Breakfast was really tasty, and the room service came quickly. The staff were professional, too. The room was spotless and very neatly kept, with top notch hygiene. The surroundings look classy, so it was easy to get beautiful photos with loved ones. I'd definitely recommend it to friends and family.

We liked the morning sunlight and view from our rooms on the fifth floor. The hotel is in the middle of the city, with the promenade beach and Rock Beach close enough to walk to for sunrise. French colony is nearby as well for photos, shopping, and food. Breakfast was included and had good vegetarian choices when we arrived around 8:30, including idli, puri, upma, pongal, vada, chutneys, kesaribath, tea, coffee, eggs, and fruit. It runs around 8 to 10, probably, and it's better to come on time because food gets over quickly. Our family of five had a three-star kind of experience. The name sounds nice and different, French 😀, and the rooms looked like the pictures. We booked one premium and one deluxe room, but got two deluxe rooms after asking for adjacent rooms, ideally with a connecting door, so the children's room would be beside ours. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy. Two ladies came for cleaning, which I noticed, and it was manageable though not very professional. There was only one staff member we could see, and no one to take luggage from the car to the room, so it felt almost self service. The bedspreads and bathroom towels were very old and heavily used. Toiletries were short for five people, so we had to ask for more. We got one water bottle per day, with extra bottles charged. Snacks and drinks were available too, but cost double the price.

Mr. Zia Uddin helped arrange everything for our last minute booking, and we had a very pleasant stay. The place was neat and clean, especially the food area, which felt hygienic. The food had a homely taste. Thanks to De Fluer for not disappointing us. We'll come again and recommend staying here.

The location worked well for us, with several restaurants and cafes within a 15 minute walk at most, and promenade Rock Beach about 11 minutes away on foot. Rooms are an okay size for two, but in my honest opinion they're just okay, around three star level. Maintenance and cleaning need work, our bathroom was dusty. The staff are good and polite, but couldn't meet requests for another blanket because there was no stock. We got only plastic glasses, and an attendant had to be present to use the bottle openers. They provide soap, shampoo, and toothbrushes, but no hair dryer. The included buffet breakfast was average for both taste and choice. There are no beach facing rooms, and checkout is early, at 11 am.
