We booked a suite through agoda at half the price, but on arrival they first showed us a small room with a broken chair and broken AC. After we asked to change, we got a bigger room that was very dirty, with no AC or water heater. The property is old and poorly maintained: spiderwebs filled the room, the washroom was filthy, and the bed was so itchy and unclean that we had to use bedding we’d brought from home. It seems most employees are new, since everyone we asked said they had joined recently and didn’t know much. There are much better hotels or guest houses in this area and elsewhere.

Our family booked four days at Janakiraman, but after one awful night I managed to cancel the remaining stay. The rooms stank as soon as we opened the door, as if they hadn’t been aired in ages, and the stained beds and blankets, dust, spiderwebs, and neglected cupboards made the hygiene unbearable. The dim yellow light didn’t help. The toilet was gross, with stained tiles, no flush, no tap at the washbasin, a broken bucket, no soap, and no towel. Furniture was falling apart, wardrobes squeaked, switches were broken, the entire electric panel for the so-called AC was open, and a foot lamp hung precariously from the wall. There was no AC, Wi-Fi, or working DTH, and the cable service was disconnected. We were on the first floor, but the lift was out of order, and nobody helped with luggage. There was no room service or bellboy either. Food was prepared in the BAR, on the ground floor, which made the place uncomfortable for families. Breakfast was included but never provided, and Make My Trip still charged us for it. Parking was inadequate, so I had to leave the car by the roadside, and the approach road is a disgusting mud service road. This was a horrific, deeply disappointing stay for my family. I’ll keep posting our photos and videos on forums at the start of each month so people know and the authorities see what happened. I don’t have my phone with me right now because I’m at my location.

The room was so bad I couldn’t wait to leave. Bed sheets and floors were dirty, the rooms smelled foul, the bathrooms had no flush, taps leaked constantly, and the AC was broken. The floors, windows, washrooms, and check-in experience were all pathetic. This is a shabby, below-average hotel, unsuitable for families, children, or older people. Maybe couples looking for a place to be intimate would find it suitable. Stop before booking and read this firsthand experience.

There’s no car parking at the property, so we had to leave the car about 200 metres away below the bridge. The washroom was in terrible shape, with outdated equipment, and the service was zero. The rooms aren’t great, though the price is about as low as it gets. The receptionists were arrogant, and I avoided talking to them because they wouldn’t even make eye contact when I asked for information or a basic kit. If price is your only concern, fine, but don’t expect the place to match its photos.
