Sejour De Confort by OYO Rooms

For a budget-friendly stay in Puducherry, this place offers rooms with a double bed and mattress, AC, and a spacious bathroom with a geyser. Ventilation is a problem, though. When you're in the room, you can't tell whether it's day or night.

I can't give this place zero stars, though it deserved them. The reception person was awful with guests, and the rooms smelled strange and strongly. There weren't any bins in the rooms; we were told to bring one up from the ground floor if we needed it. We also had no room service for basics like water or cleaning. At night, there was a lot of noise outside, and to top it off, squirrels were wandering around inside the rooms. A terrible stay.

We were in a rush after reaching Pondicherry bus stand around 11:30 to midnight, so we booked through oyo at oyo sejour de confront lawspet for one person and paid 599-36. Google Maps showed the hotel about a kilometer away. Around 12:30 pm, two unknown people attacked us about 200 meters from the hotel, demanded our phones and money, and beat us. There was a fight for 2-3 minutes before they left. Two people we spoke to afterward said robberies happen there. At the hotel, after what had happened, we were charged 1000 rupees for one extra person. The place was very dirty, there was no water facility, and the staff weren't good. Please choose a better hotel.

There was no food facility at the property, so we had to eat out or order ahead. The room also wasn't cleaned every day. During my three-day stay, I had to ask for it to be cleaned on day two. Apart from those points, my stay was positive.
