Villa Kalifie Homely Stay

The rooms were well maintained, and the place felt homely and safe since the landlords’ family lives downstairs. Our main issue was that the AC wasn’t working. What really stood out was how the landlord helped us during a sudden downpour. The streets were flooding and the rising water was stopping vehicles from passing. We’d gone out walking and got caught in the torrential rain, taking shelter under an old building and unsure what to do. He noticed we were out, called right away, and came to pick us up. It poured all night without stopping, so we’re very thankful for his thoughtfulness. Without his help, we don’t know when we would have made it back.

The owner, M. Kalifa, was very helpful and dependable. He even took me by bike to an exchange bureau where I got the best rate I’d found on the trip. The rooms are simple, cute, clean, and well located, with a working fan and AC. There’s also a large terrace where you can watch a lovely sunrise or sunset.

The hosts were really nice and helpful, and everything was completely clean. The AC worked well, and it stayed quiet both day and night, so it was easy to get a good rest. We’d definitely recommend this place!

Don’t judge this place by its old-looking exterior. Inside, the rooms are top notch and really pleasant, with clean beds and bathrooms. There’s AC in every room, and it felt safe and suitable for family or friends. The price is very affordable. There’s no car parking space, but you can park in front of the building, so it wasn’t a big issue for us. The owner was humble, friendly, and polite. One of the best homestays in Pondicherry.
