La Plage SeaView Suites

The rooms are nicely decorated, though the bathroom could be better. Staff were accommodating much of the time, but often started by saying no, so it took some convincing. There’s no accessible common area apart from the room, and for a lodge-like place the price felt high. An open spot to sit or a smoking area would have helped. More open staff could have made the stay better.

We loved the hotel and its staff. The partial sea view from our balcony was actually nice, since we could see both the water and greenery. The decor is pleasant, and the restaurant feels cosy. It’s right by the beach in the middle of White town, with most sights nearby. Breakfast was a nice continental spread. Mr Anbu, the manager, was especially cordial, knowledgeable, and helpful. The one drawback was the nearby church bell in the early hours, which woke us up. Some soundproofing might help with sleep.

La Plage made our weekend with our kid memorable, and we’d recommend it to friends and family. The beach is just a stone’s throw away, with the sound of waves, and cafes and boutiques in french town are only a few minutes’ walk. Our room was well kept, and the courteous, friendly staff even helped us find a parking spot for our car in french town. The rooftop restaurant serves delicious food, though service is very slow. We tried the cilantro chicken and loved it. Breakfast was complimentary, and the croissant and danish options deserve a special mention.

The staff and management were lovely and helpful throughout. Still, we’re early risers and early to bed, and the noise from tables and chairs being dragged around in the upstairs restaurant wrecked our sleep. There was also a bang every few minutes. The room itself was nice, but the bathroom needed a thorough scrub. The balcony was too small to enjoy and needed washing, with dirty feet and bird poop.
