DK Residency

The stairs were left cluttered for days with dishes and liquor bottles, and there was a bar upstairs playing music around the clock. It was loud enough to keep us awake, and we were even scared to come out of the room easily. The hotel also went by two different names, which made it hard to find on Google Maps. We had booked two rooms for me, my parents, and a sibling. In my parents' room, the curtains looked carelessly put up, the sheets were dusty and stained, and the floor felt very sticky. There were lizard droppings on the wall and lizards around the room. The toilet was filthy, as if it hadn't been cleaned, and its seat was broken. They had a dirty shelf instead of a cupboard, and the electrical fittings were loose and broken. Our room had lizards everywhere, with droppings all around. One fell on me while I was in bed; another was in the shower, and one sat on the windowsill. The sheet was so short it only covered half the bed, and it was filthy too. The geyser dripped constantly, making the toilet hard to use. There was moss growing on the curtains, the AC was damaged, and used cigarette boxes were on the windowsill. Worst hotel ever.

DK Residency is top class, with spacious rooms that are very clean, neat, and well maintained. The room has AC, a heater, TV with set-top box, and room delivery for water, hot drinks, cold drinks, and veg and non-veg food. I'd recommend it for all kinds of people.

The stairwell had beer bottles and dishes of rotting food, and the elevator had no light. The AC was damaged, every sheet and blanket was torn, and there were used cigarette boxes in the rooms. The curtains were broken, and there was moss in the bathrooms and on the curtains. Lizards and lizard droppings were everywhere. My sibling was in bed when a lizard fell on her. The leaky geyser dripped on you if you used the commode. We had the "superior room." The hotel used two names, SR and DK, which confused us and even the owner. This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. This place should be shut down.

We've booked this place twice for family stays and were satisfied both times. The owner, Mr. Murali, was easy to approach, and reception was very helpful. They provide the essential amenities, plus extras like an induction stove and kettle. If you want an affordable service apartment with amenities on the cuddalore-pondy road, this is a good option. Weekends tend to be fully booked a week ahead, so plan accordingly.
