Dev Mahal

The rooms are spacious and clean, and the head chef is great. I also liked eating in the breezy dining hall. The lady manager was very polite, and there’s soft music through the halls all day and night, which feels soothing. The location is nice, with basic items available nearby. There’s no laundry in the hotel, though, and the buffet menu could use more options.

From the sea-view rooms and restaurant, you can see the North Bay Coral Island shown on the Indian 20 Rupees note. The rooms have a grand feel, and the staff are good with guests. The food is good too. Hotel Dev Mahal is a very nice place in Port Blair, and I’d recommend it to family and friends.

The rooms smelled awful, the blankets hadn't been washed, and the AC didn't work. There was a constant beeping from the smoke detector, but the staff refused to replace it or move us to another room. We had to remind them a couple of times about every service, and the manager was very rude. We stayed with family for two days. The main door had a crack that let people outside peer into the room. The food was terrible too. I wanted to give zero stars, but one is the lowest option. This hotel is a complete waste. Please don't book it.

The hotel is cheap, and they’ve made a good effort with the decor. The toiletries were good too. But some rooms had no water, so we had to use another room’s bathroom. The lift was unreliable, and breakfast was very limited and based on what they chose, not what we wanted. They also don't take credit cards.
