OYO 5975 Hotel SKS Goldmine

The only real plus is that you can walk to the airport. The rooms are cramped, dingy basement spaces, barely big enough to move around in. There isn't a restaurant, and the included breakfast came in plastic bags and was delivered to the room. With no space for chairs, we had to eat it sitting on the bed. Even for a short stop in Port Blair, I'd avoid it. It doesn't have the basic things a hotel should provide.

The place was clean and looked maintained, but the staff's behavior put me off recommending it. They came straight into the room when we opened the door after they rang. The breakfast included with our goibibo booking was ordered from another restaurant because the hotel has no kitchen. Then they asked us to cover the delivery costs, and things got heated when we said that shouldn't be our responsibility. After that, our WiFi access was cut off. I don't know if they acted this way because there were just two girls in the room or if they're usually this rude.

The airport is only about 600 m away, and I had a nice stay. Breakfast could be better, though perhaps that will improve once the restaurant opens. Mr. Dinesh on staff and the owner, Mr Selvam, were helpful and cooperative. Thanks SKS.

It's near the airport, and every room has AC, though there aren't many rooms. The WiFi signal is weak, it can smell a little damp, and food isn't available.
