Hotel Platinum House

I stayed last night. The room itself was okay, but the carpet and chair cushion were very dirty. The towel in the bathroom was full of worms. When I asked for a replacement, the other towel they gave me was used. There were no hangers in the room and no free WiFi. The ground floor smelled really bad. The hotel didn’t provide complimentary breakfast, and the toast I asked for with my tea was below standard.

The food quality was very good, with a supreme taste, and the staff were supportive and cooperative. The property has its own kitchen and is part of a chain of restaurants around the city. It’s an above-average place that justifies its price, especially if you’re looking for affordable accommodation in Prayagraj near Highcourt.

For around 1. to 2k, I think you can find better hotels. This one feels overpriced, especially since there are no premium features. They don't even offer a complimentary bottle of mineral water, and there are no bathroom slippers. The toilet is very small and lacks modern facilities.

The rooms are a decent size, but the balcony was dirty. I stayed here several times with my associate Mr.Mitra for work in Allahabad. We found the hotel through OYO, which I think is a great, helpful and cooperative brand, but that didn't make the stay itself good. Tea, food and water could take 2-3 hours to arrive. When we complained, the hotel blamed its food partner Dewesis. The food was expensive, often cold, and sometimes stale. Repeated requests to fix this got nowhere. They don't have a kitchen to make fresh food, tea or coffee, and there's no microwave to warm up what they serve. There was also a problem with Nitish, a waiter. I gave him Rs.100 to buy a litre of coke that cost Rs.60, and he first said, "yahan 100 rupaya leta hein". Only after I asked several times did he return Rs.40 from his pocket. The towels were torn and dirty, and the staff wouldn't accept that they were at fault. OYO tried its best, but can't be held responsible for the hotel's incompetence. Apart from the good sized rooms, nothing impressed me.
