Luxmi Hotel

I had to book during Mahakumbh, and paid 4500 rs for a room and service I'd value at 50 rs. The rooms are on the fourth floor, with no lift. The bedsheet hadn't been changed before check-in. It had fresh food spills from the previous guests and lots of hair on it. There were several chips and gutkha packets on the floor. The washroom had an Indian seat with no flush, just a mug covered in algae. The washbasin had no pipe, so water ran over my feet when I washed my hands.

There's 24-hour hot water, a clean room, and a nice location, with a small space for bike parking. But there's no lift, the actual place doesn't look like the photos, and the stairs are narrow. The rate felt a little high for the room. They kept asking for advance payment right on the door at noon, going knock knock knock, 'Pay advance.' Pretty funny.

The whole staff were supportive and cooperative from the start of the trip. They also helped save me from a broker.

The room was smaller than a storeroom, had cockroaches, and came with nothing but a bed and table. The staff were rude, the toilets smelled and were dirty, no bathroom kit was supplied, and there was no room service. The door was broken and wouldn't lock from our side, so we had to call staff to lock it. They looked like gundas to me and kept asking for separate money for every service. They charged 1000 rs for early check-in and started asking for money as soon as I entered. I was charged 5500 rs for one night, while another person was charged 2200 and someone else 3000, and so on. The room wasn't worth 500 rs. I strongly don't recommend this hotel and won't return.
