I’ve booked rooms regularly for Russian male guests, so it was frustrating when the staff member on duty, ‘Lalu’, wouldn’t even accept payment or make an advance booking this time. He said there was an ID issue. I explained that the guest would check in only after arriving and having their live ID checked, but he still refused to take the booking. Their other hotel accepted the payment and reservation straight away. It was a very inconvenient experience, especially as a regular customer.

The location is great, parking is excellent, and the breakfast was delicious. The veg stuffed paratha was especially good, easily 10/10. The staff were EXTREMELY POLITE, absolutely five stars for them. The hot water was a bigger issue: the solar system doesn’t provide it at night after sunset, and water runs to waste while you wait for it to warm up at the taps. This happens in many hotels in India, but the overall cleanliness and upkeep here need improvement. The stay was OK, though the standard could be raised.

The rooms are old and in poor condition, and the service didn’t feel like what you’d expect from a 3-star hotel. They showed me the worst room first, then gradually moved to rooms that were less bad. Why do that if better rooms are available? Everyone pays the same 2k. I can’t see the price being justified beyond the location. Elsewhere, it wouldn’t be worth even 1k.

I booked at the last minute and took the only room available, a non-AC room on the top floor. It was large, airy, and set on the hotel terrace, with no other room up there besides the lift and stairwell. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean and well kept. Breakfast was fine, served warm, with idli, wada, chutney, sambar, a veg sandwich, poha, tea, and coffee. A decent place for a night, and I may come back.
