Hotel East West

I ended up paying for another booking after reaching Puri. The hotel had apparently been acquired by ITC Fortune and was no longer operating under this listing. I trusted the website and Google reviews, and that was a mistake. The website and phone number seem fraudulent. Email didn't work. On the phone, they asked me to pay the full amount before confirming. After I sent it, they promised a receipt within 48 hours, but none came. On the booking day, they called and said they couldn't make the receipt and wanted me to pay again, supposedly so they could generate it on another machine. They said the first payment would be refunded within 24 hours, but without a second payment they couldn't confirm the booking. I refused to send more money. I only understood how serious this was once I arrived. Don't rely on the website, its photos, or the number listed there.

We paid in advance to book this place, then got no receipt, confirmation, or response to calls and messages. We later found out the hotel had shut down and was no longer operating. They're still taking bookings and collecting money, apparently using old photos to mislead people. This is a fake listing for a hotel that no longer exists. Don't book or send money. Report it so others don't get caught.

The staff were all kind and helpful, and the pool was clean and lovely. The hotel is right by the beach, with its own private beach area. Our room was spacious and clean, and most modern amenities were there. We were given a sea-facing room on our last day when one became available, which was appreciated. Parking was good too. We had a nice stay.

We liked it enough to extend our stay. The pool is a lovely place for a dip, with a view that seems to blend into the sea. The hotel is right by the water, and the area is quiet enough to hear the waves. It's about a kilometer from the main promenade. The staff were attentive and courteous, and we were genuinely impressed with their service. The rooms are spacious, especially the Super Deluxe ones, which I'd recommend for their breathtaking sea views. Most rooms look out over the sea. The property could use more attention to upkeep. Some guests don't take care with valuable items, which can lead to damage and then negative online posts. Still, for a family, friends, or a couple visiting Puri and hoping to make memories, this feels like a good choice.
