Courtyard Raipur

I stayed at Courtyard by Marriott Raipur on December 20th and again on December 24th, and both visits were excellent. The rooms were spotless, hygienic, and well kept, with everything I needed provided quickly. Breakfast had a lavish, elegant spread with lots of delicious choices, all presented beautifully. There was also a special dinner buffet on Christmas Eve, thoughtfully put together and a memorable festive touch. The front desk team, especially Pratham and Uday, were courteous and helpful, making check-in and check-out smooth. A woman working in the dining area was there at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I regret not remembering her name, but she was attentive, kind, and gave wonderful service throughout. The combination of clean, comfortable rooms, good dining, festive events, and attentive staff made this one of the best places I've stayed recently. I look forward to coming back.

The room key stopped working after one day of our two-night stay, which was embarrassing. The reception manager blamed a technical error. The lift also uses the same access card as the room, but my wife and I were given only one card. Each time we needed lift access, we had to ask reception. When I asked for another card for my wife, they said no. I've stayed in other five-star hotels and never had to do this. It made us feel like beggars, while even a small hotel gives guests more freedom. The central AC never worked properly. The room stayed cold even when we raised the temperature, so we had to turn it off and then it became suffocating. We complained, but nobody properly dealt with it, and the manager in charge didn't seem serious about fixing it. The service was very poor. The hotel should address these problems and make sure guests have a pleasant stay. Choose it only if you have no other option.

The restaurant staff were friendly and pleasant, and the buffet was good. But the booking I made through booking.com was for a king size bed and a sofa cum bed, and at check-in they gave us twin beds instead. I was there with my wife and our 2 year old, so that setup was uncomfortable and unpleasant. None of the drinks were available apart from water. Other than those things, I had no complaints.

Travelling alone, I was impressed by how professionally and calmly the team handled things. At many popular hotels, women get left waiting while staff give in to men who are in a hurry, but that didn't happen here. The staff were polite and helpful, the rooms were wonderful, and the service was prompt. It's been my best experience so far.
