Hotel MCM Towers

The location is the one great thing about this hotel. Our room was average, with ants and insects, and the food at the third floor restaurant was average too. Service was just okay, though the woman at reception was kind, polite, and cooperative. Thankfully the lift worked. We paid 5000 for two days, and it didn't feel worth the price.

The room was clean and well maintained, and the AC worked perfectly. I also liked the clothes drying stand, a thoughtful thing I haven't seen in many hotels. The food was tasty and hygienic. I only ate dinner there because breakfast had no South Indian options. The hotel is just a few steps from the main Rameshwaram temple, though getting there in your own vehicle can be tricky because the surrounding roads are narrow. I wish checkout were extended to 1 PM. Staff were reluctant to hold our bags after checkout, so we had to take them along on a local auto-rickshaw tour for a few hours.

The location gets 10/10, but everything else was closer to 3/10. There were ants and insects in the room. The receptionist lady was nice and service decent, and the lift worked, thankfully. The manager made an uncomfortable situation out of a simple question about guest timing rules. He answered rudely, used inappropriate language, and behaved unprofessionally toward female guests. The way he dealt with our concern showed no respect or customer service. I wouldn't recommend this lodge, especially for women travelers, unless management improves how guests are treated.
