Kohinoor Samudra Beach Resort

The sunset views from this scenic resort are amazing, almost as if you're above the city. It's a good option for families wanting to experience Ratnagiri without leaving. The construction is old, though the rooms are comfortable and service is good. Breakfast is a real plus; the rest of the food is average. Must visit for families, but for explorers it so so.

The direct access to Bhatey Beach is a highlight, though getting there means trekking downhill. The grounds are large and green, with a spacious parking area and a big pool split into children's and adults' areas. Kids can take a small toy train ride, but it runs only twice daily and lasts about 5 minutes. Rooms are quite large, with two single beds and one double bed, a bathtub, small refrigerator, TV, Wi-Fi, and all essential amenities. On arrival it felt like a well-maintained 4-star property. Staff were very kind and helpful. Sunset views are lovely, and A-wing rooms face the sea. Breakfast is included, with around 6-8 dishes and unlimited servings. A peaceful, spacious place for families or anyone wanting to relax by the sea. Highly recommended.

The restaurant staff were the one bright spot: smiling, kind, and professional, and they saved our overall experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the rooms already look old and maintenance is so poor that I think the place could be terrible in 2 or 3 years. Reception staff were unfriendly and never smiled, making us feel like we were bothering them. We checked in at 5 pm and found dirty plates outside our room. At that price, I didn't expect to see the previous guests' mess.

The quiet hilltop setting kept us away from city noise, with beautiful panoramic sea views. The private sunset point, swing, and glass podium were a real highlight, and private beach access added value. We stayed for 3 nights and found the place peaceful. There was a large swimming pool, game room, and spacious dining area. Breakfast was tasty with a good variety, and the courteous, helpful staff made us comfortable. Food and room service cost more, but for the location, views, and experience, it felt acceptable. Great for a restful getaway.
