I had a terrible stay. There was no room cleaning for the three days, no drinking water provided, and the same bedsheets stayed on despite calling the manager several times. The bathroom was unhygienic, the AC didn’t work, and when the electricity went out, there was no backup battery. I was without lights for more than three hours. I’d rather stay at the station than at this hotel. I booked and paid everything through OYO, but on arrival they denied the booking and the manager demanded another Rs 3000. The owner was the one who answered when I called customer care, and the staff behaved ridiculously. I paid extra because they wouldn’t return what I’d paid online. The same thing happened to everyone arriving there, according to what I saw.

They asked for double the amount even though I’d already paid online, and wouldn’t let me in without the extra payment they were demanding. I called the police, and only then did they agree to accept me. It was a horrible experience. I ask everyone not to choose this hotel, even if it were free. Hotels like this shame India and hurt tourism; the state government should take strict action and cancel its license.

During my three nights here, I found the hotel good for nothing. The reception guy wasn’t helpful at all, and turned away someone who had paid in advance, saying there were no rooms. At checkout, he used the OTP excuse to take my phone, open OYO, and give himself a five-star rating. Don’t hand him your phone. There’s no filtered drinking water, only a suggestion to use tap water, and no welcome kit. The rooms have no windows or ventilation, and the whole hotel is non-AC. It’s also far from Roorkee railway station, with bad surroundings nearby. The good reviews you see are paid ones, in my view. Tip: Piran Kaliyar has plenty of hotels, and you can find a good, cheap one by going there and booking in person.

They also rated their own hotel without asking. If you booked through an app with a discount, they may refuse to let you in and demand more money. Disgusting hotel.
