Treebo Saumendra Residency

The road to the hotel was broken, and though they had promised pick-up and drop facilities because of that, no one was available when I needed a ride. I had to walk by myself. Service was frustrating throughout. I waited half an hour for warm water, then ended up bathing in cold water in the middle of winter. Breakfast was just as bad. After another 30 minutes without proper service, I left without eating. Other guests were irritated too, waiting for basic things like spoons, puris, tea, butter, bread or omelettes. A very poorly managed experience.

Treebo Saumendra was good value for money, with clean, well-kept rooms, fresh linens, good lighting and working basics like Wi-Fi, TV and air-conditioning. The bathroom was hygienic and had enough toiletries. Breakfast was simple but delicious, with freshly prepared Indian and continental choices. Getting around was easy because the hotel is near major attractions and public transport. Check-in went smoothly, and the front desk team were helpful and professional. The staff were courteous and the atmosphere comfortable. I had a pleasant stay and would consider coming back, whether for business or leisure.

We booked a triple room with one mattress, and the staff added another one to make it taller for the older person, without charging extra. They were very polite, humble and nice. The room was spacious, with a heater, an extra blanket on request, shower gel, shampoo and handwash. There’s a lift, and Sarnath visiting sites are very close. Breakfast was a buffet with aaloo poori, prantha, chhola bhatura, poha, tea, bread, butter and jam. The food tasted good. At paid dinner, the thali was missing things like gulabjamun. Service gets delayed when the hotel is crowded, though that’s normal. Overall, nice.

Room 101 was unbelievably clean and well maintained, with new fittings like AC, an ultra-comfortable bed, a washroom that felt like a 5 Star hotel, and even a surprising second balcony. The hotel corridors were spotless, the elevator was new, and Buddha images and quotes were displayed all around. The receptionist was polite and hospitable. There was a generous complimentary breakfast of Poori Sabzi and Tea. The hotel is within walking distance of Sarnath Museum, with excellent connectivity from Varanasi. Treebo offers travelers affordable, high-quality accommodation, and this stay exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend it for a memorable Sarnath visit. 😇💙
