The staff were cooperative and tried to arrange things when asked, which I appreciated. The rooms are very small, though, and basic facilities were missing. My dad and I stayed two days while I was interviewing at symbiosis. There was no hot water or soap when we arrived, not even basic hand soap. After several requests they brought a small soap. The Wi-Fi wasn’t working either. Since it’s under oyo, I expected the oyo kit, Wi-Fi, and basic amenities.
One boy at reception was courteous and suggested other OYO properties for the night, but otherwise there was no hospitality. They denied me check-in late at night while it was drizzling, even though I’d paid through Goibibo. The property manager said Oyo had long overdue payments and they would have given me a room if I’d chosen pay at hotel. Why should customers suffer over their payment dispute? Goibibo support didn’t answer, and Oyo said they were only responsible for properties booked through them. I’ve heard the same payment story from another property owner in Chennai. I won’t recommend Oyo or stay with them again. #BoycottOyo #BoycottGoibibo
We were there for just a six-hour transit, and I’d never stay again. The room was cramped and had no window, the bathroom even smaller. The double bed was too small for two male travelers, and there were no separate beds available. We got one towel, the toilet wouldn’t flush, and the locks were broken. It was next to a railway line, across from a rubbish site. They offered a refilled bottle as new Kinley mineral water. When I challenged it, they said I had to pay for the complimentary water and claimed it was refilled with “other mineral water.” OYO should step in if it cares about its brand. I can’t trust OYO now. Avoid.
The hotel itself is okay, but smells from the surrounding area may put you off using the balcony. There’s no restaurant service, so you’ll need to order food online.
The service guy was superb, and the service really is 24×7. Still, this hotel may not suit families looking for a hygienic place to stay.
