Collection O Police Bazar Shillong

The hotel's location is deep inside and very hard to reach. Maps showed it as 1.4 km from Police bazar, but that's the walking distance through an area I found very unpleasant. The route goes past a meat market and then an area with lots of drunk people and other things I don't want to discuss. By road it's about 3 km because of the one-way entry, and a cab costs around 400 rs. Traffic can make the trip take 30 minutes or more. Even local taxi drivers couldn't find it. The other families staying there and I were confused, and paid rs 500 just to get there from Police bazaar. Staff never answered calls. Taxi drivers couldn't locate the hotel, and despite my calling a thousand times, no one picked up. We ended up paying double. I booked for 4 days, but after 3 days they said my booking was over and I had to leave or pay another 1000 on top of what I'd already paid. I first thought I'd made a mistake, then learned two other families had the same problem. It seems to be their policy. There was water leaking from the floor, the toilet flush didn't work, and there was no water arranged. You have to order food through Zomato or Swiggy, and pay for water. The manager didn't understand Hindi or English, which made communication very difficult. A very bad experience, I suffered a lot. It's a fraud, in my view. There are thousands of hotels in Police bazar, so please book one of those instead.

The rooms are only a little above average, and there's barely anything in them. The TV didn't work, and there were no bathroom slippers. Service was awful: the attendant spoke improperly and gave vague answers to everything. They even charge for water. I wouldn't recommend it.

The service was basically zero. I had to ask for water, a glass and a kettle, and they didn't provide even a single bar of soap, handwash, or other basics. The toilet flushes didn't work either. The TV was just for show. I asked for a recharge right after checking in, but it still wasn't recharged after 2 days. I booked after reading good comments and had a really bad experience. Other places are better. Don't trust the good reviews, they just butter this place up. It's far from Police bazaar.

There are plenty of cafés and vegetable stalls just outside the gate, and the people here were really friendly. My room was neat and clean, and the place felt cozy. I had a great time staying here. I’d recommend booking online instead of offline.
