Hotel Blue Diamond

After visiting Shimla regularly for over 10 years, this was easily my worst stay there. We were 6 adults and 2 kids, and a massive traffic jam forced us to stop and find somewhere nearby. We ended up at Hotel Blue Diamond, and it was a terrible decision. The place smelled damp and of seepage, and the rooms stank. The linen was dirty. The washrooms were filthy too: the flush tank was broken, and the wash basin pipe leaked onto your feet whenever you washed your hands. For 8 people, they gave us just two tiny soaps and one towel when we asked for basics like soap and towels. They seemed irritated when we asked for more. They also refused to warm milk for our baby, which felt inhumane. I didn’t take pictures because I didn’t want filth in my gallery. For a family trip, avoid this place completely. It wasn’t hygienic or hospitable, not even at a basic level.

The location is great, and there’s a small supermarket downstairs that’s really useful. Rooms are fine and the service is good. Food isn’t costly, and it’s easy to get food from across the road too.

There’s a small shop on the premises, and it’s within walking distance of Mall & Ridge. The staff were well behaved and the service was awesome. Special thanks to the Rahul bhaiya, your hospitality is unforgettable 😊👍

The one downside is that it isn’t close to the mall. But if comfort matters more, and the mall isn’t your only priority in simla, this hotel is easy to book. It’s beside the circular road and easy to spot from the road, unlike many hotels in simla. Vehicles can drop you right outside, which helps a lot if you have lots of luggage. At other hotels, cars may not reach the entrance, leaving you to carry bags a long way on foot. The rooms are big, spacious, neat, and clean, with amenities like a led tv, table, chair, and almirah. Bathrooms are spacious, clean, and well maintained, and hot water is available all day. Staff are polite and friendly. Overall, it’s a very good hotel.
