Radisson Hotel Shimla

We had a confirmed booking at Radisson Jass Shimla starting yesterday, but every route to the property was blocked by heavy snow and there was no accessible road. We got badly stuck near the hotel and narrowly avoided a serious accident. The hotel gave no warning or proactive update, although it knew the roads were blocked. It's deeply irresponsible to sell non-refundable bookings when guests can't reach the property safely. Traveller safety has to matter more than revenue. I'm sharing this because people deserve clear, honest communication in extreme weather, and the brand needs to act responsibly and uphold basic human values. This is about safety, transparency, and accountability, not just a refund. Fellow travellers, please take note.

The only thing I remember positively is how kind and polite the front desk people were. The view from the window was pretty too, but that doesn't make up for how unpleasant and overpriced the stay was. There were dead bugs by the window, and the chest of drawers was stuck and wouldn't open or close. The ice bucket was battered, bruised, and unclean. The couch or bench had stains all over it, the napkin my food came in was dirty, stained, and smelly, and my toast arrived without butter or jam. By the time those came, it was soggy. The floor had dirt and abrasions, and the carpet was utterly dirty and unclean. This was supposed to be a 5 star facility. I've seen 2 star hotels with better hygiene and service. I was looking for a nice place with a good Shimla view and assumed one of the most expensive options would be a great experience. Please look at my photos for proof of how lousy this place is and what a scam they're running. Find somewhere better to stay than this overpriced accommodation.

I'm a travel agent and booked Radisson Jass Shimla for my clients. During their stay, they had to switch rooms three times because there was no hot water for showers and some electrical points didn't work. These basic problems caused major inconvenience and frustration. The food was the most concerning part: one guest got food poisoning and needed medical attention, which ruined their vacation and raises serious concerns about kitchen standards and hygiene. This was far below what I'd expect from a Radisson property. I strongly advise people against booking here. The poor food could make you sick and the stay may spoil your trip. This experience has badly damaged my trust, and I won't recommend the property to anyone planning a stay.

A nice, quiet place to stay, with good food quality. Indian and foreign tourists favor it. You can enjoy Shimla's green trees and natural views over the valley, and the hotel entrance connects to the road.
