We had a relaxing time by the river at Mahika by the Riverside. The open seating and peaceful evening atmosphere made it a refreshing place to sit with family or friends and take in the scenic view. The surroundings were clean, the food was tasty, and the service was satisfactory. A nice spot in Siliguri for a quiet meal.

I belong to this village, 1 No Bara Pathuram Jote, which was earlier called Nayan Jote. This land belonged to our ancestors, who were once Jamindars. After about 1981, our old CPIM government forcefully converted our Jamindar land into bhest land. It was then given to Bangladeshi people who had migrated from another country and now live here.

The rooms are very clean, but this is only an average hotel. There’s no kitchen, so they don’t provide food.

It works for a transit night, and they gave me some extra time both before check-in and after check-out without hurrying me along. The basic AC room was 1.2k for a day. For the price, I guess it’s just okay.

We booked 4beds through AGODA for 2 adults and a child, but the hotel charged Rs 200 extra per day for my child. There was no riverside setting and no AC. The worst part was spending the whole night with poisonous mosquitoes and a bad odour in the room.
