Sunhill Portico

The wedding arrangements at Sunhill Portico Hotel, Siliguri, went smoothly, and the location was convenient. My room was comfortable, clean, and well kept, and the staff were polite and quick to help. I had a pleasant stay, felt the service was good value, and would gladly return.

The location was good, and the staff were friendly. I stayed two nights at Sunhill Portico and had a really nice room, the best I've had in India so far.

The location and appearance of the hotel are both excellent, but the cleanliness and the way management handled things left me disappointed. For the price, the rooms and shared areas need a lot of work. I had arranged an airport car for ₹1000 + taxes. When my flight was delayed by four hours, the hotel asked me to pay the driver another ₹200, and I agreed. It was delayed a further hour, so the driver waited longer. I gave him ₹500 myself, including ₹300 extra, because I respected his time. At checkout, the hotel still said I owed ₹200 in waiting charges. I explained that I'd paid the driver ₹500, but they called him and told him to return ₹200 to the hotel because of that payment. If the driver was meant to receive ₹200 for waiting, I don't understand why the hotel wanted him to give it back. It felt cheap and unprofessional, and it spoiled the whole stay for me.

The food tastes good, though there’s room to improve it. The place is comfortable and competitively priced, with clean rooms and everything arranged properly. It’s smoke-free, which makes for a healthier environment, and it covers basic needs. Reception, kitchen, room service, helpers, and the rest of the staff were all cooperative.
