There are restaurants nearby, and the main entrance to Palolem beach is within walking distance. But the problems with two rooms facing the entrance road made it hard to enjoy those advantages. Those two first-floor rooms, on the left when facing the hotel, are beside a club owned by the hotel owner. Its very loud music continued well past the 10 pm quiet hours. We called 100, and the noise stopped briefly before starting again. The walls are plywood, so they don’t block sound and seem to vibrate with the music, which felt like someone hitting my head with a hammer. We moved to a room facing the beach on our last day and life was much better. The hotel shouldn’t operate those two rooms until proper soundproof walls are installed. The bathrooms in those same rooms also have see-through glass walls. The curtains don’t fit properly, leaving possible gaps that made us worry about being seen, especially since the bathroom faces a construction site where workers might look in. Bathing means climbing into a high tub and using the shower head. The tub is difficult for older people or children to climb into, and the oversized shower head spills water onto the floor, making it slippery. After these serious issues, the location and nearby food were hard to appreciate. Management needs to recognize they’re in hospitality, rather than making money by inconveniencing guests.
