Hotel Lucky Star

Good views from the first-floor rooms, plus free tasty breakfast and an awesome, affordable lunch and dinner. We compared the food with three or four other well-known eateries. The hotel is right on the beach, though the nearby fisheries storage means you have to put up with some smell. The walls inside are quite damp, and paint has come off in many places. It’s a thumbs up for bachelors, average for families, and I wouldn’t suggest it with kids. You could still try the restaurant either way.

Step out of the hotel and the beach is only a few steps away, and the food was excellent, at least breakfast. But the room was much too small. The staff weren’t cooperative and the receptionist was rude. They charged us for an order placed by someone else, and we had to wait while they sorted out the confusion caused by their mistakes.

Rooms in the main building are a bit small, but the price is very good value for money. It’s a nice spot by the sea, slightly away from the main beach circle, which gives it a quieter, more secluded feel. A little gate at the back leads toward the sea, though it’s not the best way to reach Colva because there’s some garbage along the way. There are a few R&Bs nearby, including some on the beach, and parking for rental bikes is available.

I’ve stayed here twice, in consecutive years, and the service has improved a lot. The rooms and whole property were neat and clean, and the view from the bar and restaurant is amazing. It’s one of the best places to stay in Colva, Goa, with such good service at an affordable price. If you’re planning a Goa trip, this place is worth a visit. I had an amazing experience and highly recommend it.
