Royal Agonda

We had a really pleasant stay at Royal agonda. The sea is only about 10 steps away and you can see it from the property, along with a partial sea view from the garden. We liked sitting on the room balcony at night, and the place looked just like the photos. The reception fixed the bathroom light that kept tripping, and the hospitality was great. Breakfast was included and just right. I'd highly recommend this stay on agonda beach.

We stopped for lunch after the beach and had a wonderful experience. The Calamari golden fry was fresh, cooked perfectly, and came with a spicy dip, just how we like it in Goa. The Canjun chicken was juicy and tasty too, and the chicken in red wine was top notch. Kudos to the Chef! I'd happily visit again and recommend the place.

The beach view and access from the property were great, and the resort ambience was fine. But the resort sits at the far end of the beach and there were no shacks nearby. Service was the downside, since staff weren't readily available. Breakfast was a single meal rather than a buffet, with limited quantity and very few choices. Cottage 7 had no refrigerator, and they didn't provide cold water, then tried to charge extra for it. It wasn't worth the price when better options with better breakfasts are available.

We stayed from 23/10/25 to 26/10/25, and it was a very bad experience. The manager made us pay the remaining room amount before we entered. It felt like he knew we'd leave if we hadn't paid. The hotel doesn't have a proper restaurant, just something for show, and the location's nice beach doesn't make up for the facilities. The room leaked when it rained. The main door is a sliding door and didn't feel secure. There was only one key, so when one person went out, the others were locked in until they returned. The large toilet was of little use: the shower mixer didn't work properly and hot water took an uncomfortable time to come through. We paid 2500/- for an extra child, but only got a floor mattress instead of a proper bed. The entrance porch is usable for sitting in the rain. Lighting was dim and insufficient. Breakfast was limited to poori sabji and egg omelette, with butter bread available on request. They had no mocktails, cocktails, or hard drinks because they weren't set up for them. Beer had only three options, and wasn't served on the second or third day because the fridge was switched off after water leaked onto it. Food at their so-called restaurant was much more expensive than nearby places, with tea at 80/- and a pint of beer at 330/- (210). Nearby hotels such as Goa Sunset, Cola, and Agonda Sunset had better room and restaurant setups. The hotel is at the far end of the beach, down a muddy road without street lights for walking to the market. Other places along the same beach have good restaurant facilities and immediate access to the main road and market. Don't spend your money, time, and peace of mind booking here.
