The place itself is beautiful, from the common areas to the bedrooms, and it's well maintained. The food is good too. But the owner said we'd have 3 separate rooms for 7 people, then changed the arrangement when we arrived and put us in a 4+3 bedded room with some story. That made things a little uncomfortable. The bathrooms smelled and were pathetic. I also found it a little overpriced for the service, especially since they charge extra for things despite meals and other items being included, like Rs. 40 for each water bottle.

Really beautiful and luxurious. One of the best houseboat stays at Dal lake. I'd have given it 4.5* if that had been an option.

We spent 2 nights there. The house boat was beautiful, and I was amazed by the precise architecture. The food was amazing too, and the heaters were on point.

The boats are anchored permanently, and there's a whole world of living and business around them, from shops behind the main lane to water sports and other commercial transactions. You can be surprised by how people live on these boat houses. They're well maintained, and the hosts offer local cuisine and hospitality that make the stay feel homely. At night, the view of the boat houses and lake from the boat house is out of this world. If you visit Srinagar, staying in one is worth experiencing for a day or two. Just remember to check that the heaters are working before booking in winter.
