Make My Trip's representative acted quickly, got in touch with the hotel manager, and resolved things. The extra charge was waived, and they said hot water and the other basic amenities would be provided right away. I'm grateful for that support. Oyo room should be more customer friendly. As a reputed brand across India, it shouldn't ignore basic customer needs. The trouble began with a room booked through Make My Trip as an Oyo room for three adults. It was so small it could barely fit two. The hotel offered a mattress on the floor for the third person, but I had paid for a room for three, and the mattress would have blocked access to the toilet. I raised this with both the hotel and Oyo room customer care, but they said the room met their policy and offered no help. After a full day travelling through the Kashmir valley, my family, including my one year old infant, waited over 45 minutes in reception. Oyo room's response was deeply disappointing. The hotel then asked for Rs 500 extra for a larger room. Feeling helpless and seeing no way to resolve things by sitting in reception, I paid. Once we got into the room, I asked for hot water to freshen up, but the manager said it would only be available in the morning and was rigid about it. I then contacted Make My Trip.

These are nice budget rooms in the market area, with clean toilets and comfortable beds. It gets quite hot inside, perhaps because of the sweet shops downstairs and their constant cooking.

The hotel is near lal chowk, with the rooms on the first floor above a market on the ground floor. They're a little small, and none of them have a mountain view.

There was no AC, as with most hotels in Srinagar, but this is a decent place in a good location. I liked it.
