We were made to feel like family from the moment we arrived. The concierge helped arrange local tours and shared tips on places to visit, room service was prompt, and housekeeping kept things comfortable. The staff were cooperative, friendly, and very welcoming. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well maintained. Traditional Kashmiri touches, including warm wood, detailed carpets, and handicrafts, made the decor feel cozy while still offering modern comforts. The hotel is near Dal Lake, and the views were absolutely stunning.

Getting into the city was a hassle. The hotel is so far out that there are no autos around, and if you do find one, the fare is 200 rupees each way. That's 400 a day and an hour of your time. The cold was just as bad. My wife spent the whole night freezing because there was no electricity and the electric blanket didn't work. The heating blanket provided wasn't working either, despite the advertised heating facilities. There was no hot water, and the other heating arrangements were awful. A total waste of time and money. Don't book this hotel in winter.

The hospitality was very good, but the basics were a real problem. The blowers they provide don't work properly, and when the power is out, there's not much use for a blower or electric blanket anyway. There was often no electricity, and the hot water and heating arrangements were among the worst parts of the stay. Maybe it's fine in summer, but winter would be awful here. Don't book for a winter stay.

I spent a day here and liked the hospitality. The host was polite, and the rooms were well kept. It's a budget-friendly place in a traditional Kashmiri setting with scenic views, and the evening walks were lovely.
