OYO 84775 Hotel Grand Sultan

The rooms were clean and had heaters, and the service was excellent. Mr. Burhan, the manager, looked after us really well. Staff were so welcoming and treated people with a lot of care, something I found rare in Kashmir.

Please be very careful if you're a woman travelling alone and considering this hotel. I had a lot of trouble there, though I don't want to go into the details, and I didn't feel it was safe for solo female travellers exploring this beautiful place. People can be good or bad anywhere, and some are selfish or mean, so plan carefully. Watch out with auto drivers too, as they may charge double. A bad choice of stay can spoil your trip.

My vacation was ruined after the hotel refused to give me a room. The rate shown on OYO was low, while the hotel rates were higher. I spent four hours speaking with OYO customer care and got nowhere. The service was awful. Don't book Hotel Grand sultan.

I had a confirmed booking and had paid five days before arriving, but they denied that any booking existed. Their phone number doesn't work, calls aren't answered, and the number listed is wrong. There wasn't even a reception. The hotel is hard to find, and although it claims to be three star, it doesn't feel like even one. Very poor place. I'd avoid it.
